- Are my files sent anywhere?
- No. Your browser reads them in the tab's memory. The page's security policy forbids any connection to another domain, and you can check it by turning off the network: everything keeps working. How to check.
- Is it free?
- Yes, completely, with no account and no file limit. The only thing for sale is the licence to install Klarinbox on your own network. On your intranet.
- Do I need Outlook?
- No. Klarinbox itself reads .msg, .eml, winmail.dat, PST, OST and mbox files. A recent browser is enough, on Windows, macOS, Linux, a tablet or a phone.
- Can a PST of several gigabytes be opened?
- Yes. It is read in chunks, never loaded whole. On a generated 6 GB PST, in Edge, the list appears in 4.3 seconds and search answers in 0.6 seconds. A password-protected PST is not opened.
- How do I get the file to open?
- Depending on the case: save an email as a file, export a WhatsApp chat, export your Gmail mailbox, export a PST. All guides.
- Why are some images in a message not shown?
- An image hosted on a remote server is not loaded: requesting it would tell the sender the message was opened. Images attached to the message are shown, and the address of the others is written in their place.
- Does the PDF prove the message is authentic?
- No. It lays the message out and states which file it came from, through its SHA-256 fingerprint. Klarinbox certifies nothing; when the authenticity of an exchange may be disputed, a bailiff's report is a different step, which it does not replace.
- What happens to personal messages in a mailbox?
- Messages marked personal or private, and those in folders that say so, are set aside by default; including them is an explicit choice. Details for human resources.
- Can only part of a WhatsApp chat be turned into a PDF?
- Yes, by period or message by message, and the PDF counts the omitted messages and writes them in their place: an extract never passes itself off as the whole chat. WhatsApp chat to PDF.
- Does an encrypted message open?
- No. An S/MIME or PGP encrypted message is not decrypted, and a signature is not verified.
- Does Klarinbox work offline?
- Yes. After you visit a tool page, the browser keeps the code and the pages of your language; PDF fonts are kept when first used. What is kept.
- What does the site count?
- After a save, a family (message, mailbox or chat) and a number, with nothing that identifies you. The request, in full.
- Is Klarinbox related to Microsoft, Meta or Google?
- No. Klarinbox is not affiliated with Microsoft, Meta or Google. Outlook, WhatsApp and Gmail are named to describe the files the tool can read.
- Can we install it on our network?
- Yes. The same site can be copied onto an internal server and works with no Internet access. Klarinbox on your intranet.
